Lighthouses again

Hi all,

I am currently painting my new lighthouse commission and it got me thinking about all the lighthouses I have painted.

I have realised that I have actually painted quiet a few.

I also realised that I am not very good at taking photo's of my artwork. So hence I do not have a photograph of every lighthouse that I have painted!!!
Sad but true:(

It would have been wonderful to have the collection of work in a photo album, in order of completion.
I will definitely need to improve on documenting my work.

Here is my very first Lighthouse that I painted. A friend has it on her wall in Geraldton:)

Then I went through a very textural phase. This was very very lumpy!!! And was part of my joint exhibition titled SHORELINE THREADS with my wonderful and talented artist Meagan Plummer!!!!!

This one is currently at Latitude Gallery in Geraldton:)
It is one of my favourites!!!!!

Then my lovely Rainbow themed light house:)

The classic red and white.

The Geraldton scene!!!!

My floral lighthouse. This was lots of fun. This is still in the process stages....I think I forgot to take a photo of the finished product!!!!

A close up of my lime green and turquoise lighthouse. Once again no final image:(

I think I have also done more............... but have no photo evidence of at all!!!!

But wherever the lighthouses are I am thrilled that people enjoy them as much as I do.
I don't know when I will stop painting them because I love that they are all different, all unique but yet all the same.
I actually would also like one myself.
Maybe that will be the very last one that I do.....the one that I will keep:)

I am also intrigued to see all the differences in lighthouses from place to place.
I find it fascinating!!!!
Here is the Leeuwin Lighthouse which I am dying to paint, since Starzia and I live down here now. I love the idea of really working with texture again here and seeing what I produce!!!!

I will also start being more diligent on photographing my work so as to keep a record.

Imagine one day collecting/borrowing all the lighthouses from all their owners and having a lighthouse exhibition when I am 80+. What a thrilling idea.

I wonder how many there will be?????

Little canvases

Hi all,

I have been playing with size lately and being creative on teeny tiny canvases that fit into the palm of your hand. So cute!
I actually love working on them and enjoy doing the detail.

Here are 2 that haven't been painted yet. Some people at the market said that they actually liked the pen work and thought they shouldn't be painted!!

Then Starzia saw me drawing and wanted to have a go herself. Such a creative and determined soul.
Starzia says that this is a self portrait!!!!:)

And that this one is a drawing of me!!!

One of my birds...but it still needs a bit of work.

And then some with colour. I love the little indian brave!!

I hope something small today brings a smile to your face.

Forever Green Markets

Hi all,

Wow .....what can I say..... the Forever Green Market day was amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am still floating on cloud 9!!!!

Here is my stall for the day!!!

I arrived at 7.30 in the morning and it took me an hour, believe it or not, to set up.

It was so wonderful seeing everyone getting ready and organising there stalls for the day and I met such lovely people.
I was under the shade of a beautiful tree with a wonderful friend of mine.

And I even made a make-shift washing line to display my clothing designs!!!!

I was so busy doing face painting and selling clothes.....I couldn't have done the day without my friend who sometimes was managing her stall as well as mine!!!!!!!!

Here are a few samples from the day.
A hand drawn whale top.....

A gorgeous stripped apron top!

A stunning pink and red apron top.......

and another winged top!!!

A pretty in pink apron top....

And a little bit of bling is always good!!!!!

I just want to say a huge thank you to everyone that came to visit Skye and Starz, commented, admired, bought something, took business cards and made my day so enjoyable. I loved all the positive feedback and I am thoroughly looking forward to doing it again next year.

Big smiles,

Skye:)

Cars and lighthouses!!

Hi all,

I have been thinking about "good" things and "bad" things lately.

The other day I took my parents out to lunch (will they paid, I drove!) and I parked my car on the side of the street in a marked bay.
When we returned it started to rain so I used my windscreen wipers.....then I noticed a piece of paper under one of the windscreen wipers!!!

My dad jumped out to retrieve it and it was a mobile number!!

I think my parents were thrilled because they thought that I had attracted the attention of a secret admirer while walking from the car to the cafe and back again!!! If only:)

I tried to ring the number and couldn't get through and then realised that there was a number missing!!!! Strange.

So we went home and didn't think too much about it!

The next morning my mother and Starzia washed the car for me while I was at work. When I came home she sadly told me that she had discovered the reason for the mysterious note. My car had been bumped and there was a big dent in the front!!:(

So to cut a long story short........I now have to pay $550 excess to get my car fixed for doing nothing wrong!!!

Then yesterday I received a commission for one of my lighthouses which will pay for the car with a little left over!!!!

Strange how the world/universe works.

Then a last thought to leave you with is....I have been reading a book titled "Count your blessings. The healing power of gratitude and love." by Dr John F Demartini and he says that what you put out their you receive.......

So now I am pondering my car story a little deeper!!!!!!!:)

I hope the universe is smiling on you!!!

Latest creations

Hi all,

I have been having so much fun in my sewing room lately. I am actually really enjoying being creative with a sewing machine.:)

I was having a little play the other day and whipped this up.......

It's probably a bit big for Starzia but still......

And look at my little angel's hair!!!! She is turning into a bush baby:)

The trouble is she loves everything I make and wants to always keep it for herself. I have a hard time explaining that we need to sell the clothing and that I can make her another one:)
She is my biggest fan followed by my gorgeous twin sister!!!

She is such a good little model!!!!

Then I have been working on my idea of merging art with fashion and vise-versa and have been hand drawing images onto t-shirts.

Have a look at these..............

A peace tree deign on the front of a tee. I love it!!!!!!

Angel wings on the back of a tee using ink intense pencils:)
Gorgeous hey!!!!!!

And lastly some cute Xmas shorts..........

Let me know what you think!

Hi all,

Mummy is doing art classes with some kids the same age as me and younger. I am there too.
We did this together.

I drew in some some foam, I rolled ink onto it and then I turned it upside down and pressed on it and then there were 2 people.

The people are mummy and me.

I hope you like it.
